Order of the Dragon Knights

Dragon Companion

• During the initiation they are bonded to a Dragon Egg of a metallic dragon of their choice as a companion and adviser. After the knight has advanced one level their egg hatches and the knight can return to be united with their dragon.

The dragon ages as the knight advances in level instead of length of their life. The dragon's age category equals four plus the knight's level. When this number passes the hit dice of a dragons age category it magically grows into that age category. However, the bond that exists in this way also extends the life of the knight and shortens the life of the dragon. If the knight were to perish so would the dragon, and vice verse.

Language

• Knights who have their mounts have learned to read and write the Draconic language. If the knight already knows Draconic, they may choose Celestial, Abyssal, or Infernal.

Skills

• Knights who have their mounts have proficiency in the Animal Handling skill.
• Knights who have their mounts they have advantage when using skills "against" dragons.
• Knights who have their mounts have expertise when using a skill against a dragon.

Transportation

• A member of the Order cannot enter into the maze of Dragon Mountain. A Knight cannot even choose to enter the maze, they are immediately transported to the The Hall of Dragon Mountain Temple.

Access to Magical Items

• Knights are permitted to receive a magical item as a reward for completing quests given to them by the patron gods of the order. They may choose the item based upon their level, not the level or difficulty of the quest they undertook.
• Alternatively, the patron gods of the order typically place more magical items in the path of knights just to help them complete more serious tasks for the gods.
