When the Fifth World was born, the gods did not create a single, blank slate of humanity. Instead, they took the "cultural soul" of a single, ancient, and long-lost human civilization and split it into three, seeding each piece onto a different island chain.
Each seed was given a different core virtue from that ancient culture, a different path to greatness.
The first humans, the Yoishan, were placed on their islands with a preternatural, innate connection to the divine. From the moment they awoke in Year 0, their cultural identity was defined by a single quest: to understand the gods.
Their "Ancient Greek" cultural archetype was a foundation for philosophy and art, but their "Indian" cultural seed drove them to look inward and upward. They became a nation of mystics, ascetics, and philosophers. Their entire society was built around contemplating the divine, resulting in a Chaotic Good nation that valued personal enlightenment and spiritual freedom above all else.
