"To kill is easy. To lead is hard. To know when to do neither is Wisdom. We bear the silence so that others may shout." — Commander Narcis First, Y76
Founder: Commander Narcis First (Aasimar Cleric of Saery).
Identity: The Enlightened / The War College.
Role: High Command, Magical Education, Spiritual Guidance, Conflict Mediation.
Reputation: They are the "Soul" of the Demesne. While Balthazar brings the Iron and Rapture brings the Shadow, Narcis brings the Mind. They are viewed as warrior-philosophers—disciplined, educated, and dangerous not because of their rage, but because of their clarity.
Base of Operations: The Command Pavilion. It is less a campsite and more a mobile university-city. Silk walls reinforce iron frames, housing the only functional War College and Arcane Atheneum in the Wilds.
Economy: The Knowledge Tithe. Other Clans pay Narcis for tacticians, spell-scrolls, and the education of their elite children.
Clan Narcis views Dragons not as beasts to be broken (Balthazar) or prey to be hunted (Rapture), but as Tests of Authority.
The Philosophy: A leader must be able to command the chaotic forces of the world.
The "Cheat" (The Doctrine of Support): Unlike other Clans that prize individual duels, Clan Narcis values Leadership. A candidate is permitted—and expected—to bring a squad or "Task Force" to subdue the dragon. The test is not "Can you kill it?" but "Can you lead your men to victory without getting them slaughtered?"
The Mounts: Green Dragons.
While the Clan fights whatever it finds, they have a deep, dangerous affinity for Green Dragons. Both the Dragon and the Clan value intellect, secrets, and leverage.
The Bond: It is a mental duel. The Rider must be smarter than the Mount.
The Ultimate Ideal: The Red Dragon.
To the Narcis philosopher, the Red Dragon represents the ultimate chaos. To command a Red is considered the pinnacle of the "Way," though few survive the attempt.
The War College The training ground for the Demesne's officers. It teaches that the sword is the last resort. Students study history, logistics, and the "Art of the Funnel" (the tactic Narcis First used to manipulate the Demon Hordes).
The Graduate: To graduate is to become an Officer. To fail is to remain a Grunt.
The Arcane Atheneum The only organized school of magic in the Clans. They treat magic not as a mysterious force, but as "Spiritual Logistics."
Doctrine: "Magic is ammunition. Do not spend it without a target."
The Sanctum of Saery A mobile temple dedicated to the God of Justice. It is here that the Ledger of the Lost is kept—a magical book containing the name of every soldier who has died since the Landing.
Role: Clan Chieftain & Keeper of the Ledger.
Mortal Status: Human Male (46).
The Gristle: Aris is a man of peace who fears a civil war above all else. He runs the Clan with a terrifying administrative efficiency.
The Shadow: Aris is currently dealing with the fallout of the "False Claimant" Incident. A charismatic young officer (Torian/Darius First) recently attempted to bypass the traditions by taking 10% of the army to capture the Red Archmage, Malvosia. Aris exiled the young commander not for the failure, but for the dangerous populism he represented. Aris now watches the horizon, fearing that the exile will return—not with an army, but with a power the Clan cannot regulate.
