When the "Second Landing" occurred, the reincarnated Humans and Elves of Seacliff rejected the Tieflings, casting them out. Those outcasts found the "worst" piece of land in the bay—a sulfurous, volcanic inlet—and, through sheer grit, built a city of their own.
Ashenport is a testament to spite. It is an insular, fiercely independent, and pragmatic city carved from the black volcanic rock. The air smells of sulfur, and steam rises from cracks in the streets. The people here are unified by a shared history of rejection; they are suspicious of all outsiders but bound by an unbreakable, internal loyalty. They are master artisans in their own right, forging unique weapons and armor from the strange, rare metals of their volcanic mines.
