Active Volcanic Titan: Mont Fournaise is a violently active volcano located on the northeastern peninsula of Taneen, with a summit height equal to or greater than the Highlands.
Magma & Mineral Flows: The volcano perpetually bleeds rivers of lava, molten rock, and various metals down carved channels along its slopes, gradually expanding the island's coastline as the flows cool against the sea.
Volcanic Wastes & Foothills: The surrounding foothills feature iron-scattered valleys, rivers of superheated water, and volcanic channels where cooled iron pellets and gold marbles tumble down the mountainside.
Temple-Like Entrance: The primary approach into the volcano's subterranean network features a polished white stone entrance framed by pillars, rails designed to guide lava, and intricate draconic artwork carved into the rock.
Labyrinth of Lava Tubes: Beneath the smoking peak lies hundreds of miles of interconnected lava tubes formed during centuries of ongoing eruptions, ranging from smooth basalt vents to active molten channels.
The Deepest Cavern: Situated at the root of the oldest lava tube network, the Forge of Fournaise is a cathedral-sized cavern defined by intense geothermal pressure and extreme heat.
Alloy Island: A massive, fused monolithic formation of Adamantine and Mithril rises like an island out of the center of a roaring magma well.
Aethium Genesis: The extreme heat rising from deep within the magma well creates a thermal sweet spot where liquid Aethium bleeds into the magma flow, trapping ambient cosmic resonance.
Molding & Stasis Lock: While kept at extreme volcanic temperatures, liquid Aethium can be collected, poured into molds, or beaten upon an anvil. Once removed from the heat source and cooled, the alloy undergoes an irreversible permanent stasis lock, rendering the item intrinsically magical and sentient.
Mineral-Rich Ecosystem: On the perfected duplicate of Taneen, Mont Fournaise continues its geological functions while sustaining specialized foothill flora, including rare Phoenix Blossoms and Inkdrop Dicentra, along its cooler ash borders.
Controlled Magma Vents: The volcano's subterranean channels safely regulate thermal pressure, preserving surrounding iron fields and rare reagent beds for visiting caravans and smiths.
