Location: Built on the jagged, black-rock coast of the main Vishani island, right where the ocean meets a massive system of hot springs, geysers, and sulfur pools.
Description: The monastery is shrouded in perpetual mist. The clash of freezing ocean spray and boiling volcanic vents creates a permanent fog bank that hides the structure from passing ships. The buildings are carved from black basalt, slick with moisture and smelling of sulfur.
It is not a quiet place. The ground rumbles, geysers scream, and the waves crash. The monks here practice a style of martial arts that mimics this chaotic environment—fluid like water, but scalding and explosive like steam.
The Dragon Turtle: The temple is dedicated to Krakol, an Ancient Dragon Turtle who lairs in the deep, heated trenches just off the coast.
The Pact: When the Vishani first arrived (Y5), they were vulnerable to surface naval threats. They forged a pact with Krakol. They feed him rare volcanic gems and processed minerals (which he eats to harden his shell); in exchange, he destroys any unauthorized ship that approaches their lava-tube entrances.
The Worship: They do not worship him as a god, but revere him as the ultimate "Guardian of the Threshold."
History:
Founding: Established in Year 15 by the "First Generation" Drow who wanted to master the surface world without leaving the safety of the volcanic heat.
Philosophy: They teach the Way of the Ascendant Dragon (specifically attuned to Steam/Fire/Cold). They believe in "The Boil"—the moment where patience (water) meets action (fire) to create power (steam).
