Forming a jagged eastern shield against the ocean approaches toward Taneen, Baqaa is a rugged cliffside fortress island. Its settlements are carved directly into basalt rock faces, shielded by massive stone sea-walls, iron gates, and perimeter watchtowers. Despite its military posture, the island is far from bleak; decorated stone bridges span chasm-like streets, while lantern-lit tea houses and open-air arenas dot the upper terraces. The inhabitants take immense pride in their resilience, maintaining an ever-ready defense force to safeguard the archipelago's borders.
