Location: The Solar District, Astra (with a new Annex in the Outer Southern Plains)
Leadership: Headmaster Mortheus Ilphelstacia
Located in the highly restricted and elite Solar District, the Astra College of the Veil (also known as the Astra School of the Veil) is Astra's premier academy of illusion, espionage, and arcane study. It is one of the most prominent institutions of higher learning in the world alongside the Arwonian College of The Art and the College of Fate.
Academics and Campus Life The College of the Veil offers a comprehensive magical education covering various schools of magic, such as Advanced Evocation and Arcane Theory. While the curriculum is rigorous, most instructors at the main campus only provide access to, and answer questions regarding, spells of 5th level and below.
Student life is deeply intertwined with the shifting politics and economy of Astra. The academy relies heavily on external supply chains for magical components; recently, a blockade by the Rogue's Association severely disrupted the transport of reagents, causing a notable shortage of magical ink for the college's spellbooks and assignments.
Notable Faculty and Figures The academy is governed by Headmaster Mortheus Ilphelstacia, a War Magic Wizard, a son of Astra's founding royalty, and one of the original architects of the Anthem adventuring guild.
The College of the Veil Annex:
To make magical education accessible to the working class, a massive expansion known as the College of the Veil Annex is being constructed in the Outer Southern Plains. Championed and privately funded by Duke Aedan Illykur, this branch was established specifically for farmers and commoners who do not have the time to commute back and forth to the inner Solar District.
With Headmaster Mortheus's official recommendation, Aso Balla was appointed as the architect and the first Headmaster of the Annex. The ambitious new facility features six separate classrooms, each equipped with its own independent laboratory, specifically designed to advance these new students into the practice of high-level magic.
