Though its name evokes a history of violent eruptions and ash-choked skies, Mount Terreur now sleeps in a permanent, dormant state.

Overview & Volcanic Geography

• Dormant Volcanic Titan: Unlike its active sister Mont Fournaise, Mont Terreur rests in a permanent, dormant state, its geothermal heart gently warming subterranean waters rather than spewing ash and magma.

• Inverted Sheer Cliffs: The volcano is defined by sheer, inverse-angled rock faces and pitted drop-offs that make scaling the summit virtually impossible without flight.

• Lowland Jungle Crucible: The base of the volcano is enveloped in a dense, towering jungle fueled by mineral-rich volcanic soil. This lowland area is stiflingly hot with high humidity, zero airflow, and very warm, shallow streams.

• Highland Elevation: The terrain ascends sharply into rugged mountain trails reaching up to 5,000 feet above sea level, where bamboo and palms give way to forests of pine, birch, and oak.

• Celestial Sanctuary: On the perfected duplicate of Taneen, Mont Terreur continues its role as the island's primary geothermal and divine haven.
