In the vast cosmology of Alealam Alkhamis, Solars are not merely powerful celestial servants; they are apex entities operating at a scale that defies mortal comprehension. To truly understand a Solar is to look past the myths of standard angels and recognize them as living engines of cosmic order, capable of shaping reality, commanding entire constellations, and single-handedly turning the tide of planar wars.
To grasp the starting point of a Solar’s power, one must look at the baseline statistics known to the most elite scholars of the material plane. A standard Solar is a towering, godlike entity (CR 21) wielding immense physical and magical supremacy. They possess an innate Armor Class of 21, devastatingly high hit points, and a supernatural flying speed of 150 feet. Their strikes—whether from a divine greatsword or a lethal slaying longbow—deal massive radiant damage. Furthermore, Solars command legendary actions that allow them to teleport effortlessly, release blinding bursts of divine energy, and sear enemies with radiant heat.
The true terror and majesty of a Solar in this universe comes from their ability to acquire and max out mortal class levels on top of their divine foundation. A Solar like Arazium is not simply a CR 21 celestial; he is a Level 20 Champion Fighter stacked perfectly atop his Level 20 Solar progression. This results in a staggering gestalt entity—a being with the celestial invulnerability of an angel combined with the absolute martial mastery of a legendary mortal warrior. Others, like the 6-Rays, possess 20 levels in Wizard, Barbarian, Monk, or Paladin, making them unparalleled specialists in their respective fields.
Solars are uniquely categorized into the upper tiers of the Stages of Existence (a 10-Stage scale of reality).
Stage 6 (Transcendent Solars): These are the "standard" Solar. Nearly all Solars that are encountered are at this stage of existence.
Stage 7 (Sovereign Solars): Beings of immense power, such as Thanyzael and Ozorion.
Stage 8 (Cosmic Solars): Rulers of entire constellations and direct emissaries to creator gods, such as Vaelorim and Xephalam.
Stage 9 (Primordial Solars): A tier occupied solely by Arazium, among the Solars. This plateau is shared only with the Grand Gods of the Pantheon.
Solars are not solitary guardians; they are celestial lords. The greatest among them are granted dominion over vast constellations within the Astral Sea. These realms serve as their personal palatial domains and operational bases. For example, the Half-Solar Zophiel ascended to govern the Constellation of Sumai, ruling over its 17 distinct realms.
Furthermore, Solars possess the capacity to sire Half-Solars with mortal or fey beings. Their destinies as complex as any Demigod's would be as well. Some destined for great deeds and others terrible deeds and they may never know which they are destined to achieve or the path that they will walk to glimpse their destiny.
