High-Crest clings to the western face of the Cloud-Touched Mountains like a lichen of stone and iron. From a distance, it appears as a series of massive, terraced gardens and fortified gates climbing the slopes. Inside, it is a labyrinth of heated tunnels and vast halls carved into the granite. The city is famous for its "Sky-Cisterns," which capture mountain runoff to power both their industry and the irrigation for the satellite villages below.

Founded in Y88 by a mixed group of 4th World survivors (primarily Dwarves and Elves) who fled the fiendish incursions in the Forsaken Demesne. Unlike the Nomadic Clans, they sought safety in height and stone rather than mobility. For nearly a century, they have remained unknown to Astra, surviving through self-sufficiency and the extraction of rare "Cloud-Glass" gems. They have only recently begun to trade with the central Gap villages as the "Pull of Fate" brings more travelers through their mountain passes toward the Dragon's Gateway Inn.
