Name: Yim
Pantheon: The Core Pantheon
Titles & Aliases: God of Peace, The Wise Ruler, The Scepter and the Branch, The Peacemaker
Gender / Form: Male (He/Him).
Form: Yim is a gentle, peaceful god. He appears as an older, kindly king, often in the form of a human or halfling. He has a warm smile and kind eyes, and his presence is immediately calming. He is never seen armed, but often carries a simple scepter of polished wood.
Alignment: Lawful Good
Status: Major God (Reports to Ezma, High God of Death)
Divine Realm: The Sceptered City
Primary Domains: Peace, Wisdom, and Rulership
Portfolio: Good rulers, diplomats, mediators, and the "peace" that comes from a "wise, lawful" society.
Cleric Domains (5e): Peace, Order, Unity
Holy Symbol: A golden scepter crossed with an olive branch. (This represents "Rulership" and "Peace.")
Favored Weapon: None. (Clerics favor the Quarterstaff, as it is a "ruler's staff" and a "walking stick," not a weapon of war).
Favored Colors: White, gold, and olive-green.
Sacred Animals / Plants: The dove (peace) and the olive tree (peace and rulership).
Core Dogma (The Philosophy): "Peace is not the absence of conflict; it is the presence of just law. A good ruler is a gardener, not a warrior. He must cultivate wisdom, nurture his community, and rule with a gentle hand. Peace is the goal, Law is the path, and Wisdom is the guide. Seek to build, to unite, and to rule justly."
Tenets for Followers (The "Thou Shalt"s):
"Seek peace, but understand that true peace requires a foundation of just law."
"Cultivate wisdom. A rash decision is the seed of future conflict."
"Rule justly, whether you rule a kingdom or only yourself."
"Be the mediator. Be the calm voice that unites the warring factions."
Sins & Taboos (The "Thou Shalt Not"s):
"To sow discord or to rule through "tyranny" (the "Sin of the Iron Fist")."
"To mistake "appeasement" for "peace." True peace cannot exist with "evil" or "chaos.""
"To act rashly or without wisdom."
"To refuse to mediate or to reject a "just" peace."
Superiors: Ezma (High God). Yim (Lawful Good, Peace) reports to Ezma (Neutral, Death/Conflict). Yim's "portfolio" is the prevention of Ezma's. Yim is the "God of Rulership" who creates the "peaceful" societies that "delay" mortals from meeting Ezma and Saery "too soon."
Subordinates:
Alsaria (Darkness, Redemption, Retribution, Arts)
Lom (Good, Justice, Peace, Honesty)
Sieyut (Honor, Law, Battle)
Counterparts:
Saery (Major God): His "co-worker" in Ezma's department. Saery (LN) is "Justice/Judgment" (the "cold" law). Yim (LG) is "Peace/Rulership" (the "warm" law).
Mortals: He is beloved by all "good" rulers, common folk, and halflings. He is the "gentle" god, the "grandfather" of the pantheon.
Demigod Offspring:
Yimette (Unity)
Name of the Church: The Peacemakers, The Order of the Scepter and Branch.
Worshipper Base: Good kings, queens, mayors, judges, diplomats, mediators, and halfling communities.
Clergy Structure: A "diplomatic corps."
Acolytes: "Heralds"
Priests: "Mediators" or "Ambassadors"
Bishops: "High Diplomats"
Temple Description: Temples are "embassies" or "halls of peace." They are "neutral ground" where warring factions can meet. They are always beautiful, simple, and calming, filled with gardens, fountains, and quiet halls.
Rites & Rituals:
"The Mediation": A ritual where a priest of Yim serves as a "neutral mediator" for any dispute, large or small.
"The Prayer of Wisdom": A long, silent meditation at dawn, "asking" Yim for the "wisdom" to rule justly for the day.
Holy Days:
"The Day of the Treaty": A celebration of "peace," often held on the anniversary of a major local treaty being signed.
The King and the Gardener: The core parable of Yim. It tells of a Warrior-King (a follower of Sieyut) who conquered a nation, but could not rule it (it was full of discord). He prayed to Ezma for help, and Ezma sent him Yim. Yim (as a gardener) taught the King: You cannot force a plant to grow with a sword. You must cultivate it with water, law, and wisdom. The King learned to rule from the gardener, and the kingdom had peace.
The Gentle God: Yim is gentle and peaceful, but he is not a pacifist. His dogma supports the war of his subordinate, Sieyut (God of Battle), as long as it is a just war that leads to a just peace.Â
