Core Dogma (The Philosophy): "Life is a competition. To compete is to be alive. The forge and the field are one and the same—they are places where you test your skill, your strength, and your heart. Do not compete to harm, but to excel. A true victory is not in defeating another, but in surpassing your former self. Be good, be chaotic, and show them your best."
Tenets for Followers (The "Thou Shalt"s):
"Hone your craft. A lazy artisan is as bad as a lazy athlete."
"Embrace the competition. It is the fire that forges you."
"Be a good sport. A true champion is gracious in victory and in defeat."
"Push your limits. Your only true opponent is who you were yesterday."
Sins & Taboos (The "Thou Shalt Not"s):
"To cheat. A victory without honor is a loss."
"To refuse a challenge out of fear."
"To become stagnant or lazy. This is the "rust" of the soul."
"To "win at all costs." The spirit of the game is more important than the result."
Superiors: Vistoul (Major God). Aedryn is one of Vistoul's key subordinates. His "Forge" and "Honor" portfolios are perfectly served by her "Artisan" and "Athletics" domains. He is the "Lawful" code of honor; she is the "Chaotic" spirit of competition.
Subordinates: None (God tier).
Mortals: Aedryn is beloved by all who love a good "game." She is constantly invoked at sporting events, wrestling matches, and blacksmithing competitions.
Demigod Offspring:
Liren Hammerfist (Forge)
Masaste Honor (Knowledge)
Name of the Church: The Order of the Anvil and Javelin, The Great Competitors.
Worshipper Base: Athletes, blacksmiths, artisans, and competitors of all stripes.
Clergy Structure: A loose "league" of priests. "Coaches" (priests) train "Athletes" (acolytes) in their chosen "sport" (which can be art or athletics).
Temple Description: Temples are always "functional": they are arenas, gymnasiums, or massive, open-air forges.
Holy Days:
"The Grand Games": A massive annual competition where athletes and artisans from all over compete for the "Anvil-Javelin" trophy.
The First Race: The core myth. It is said Aedryn was born when she challenged a god of the forge (Vistoul) and a god of running (Thasa) to a new kind of competition: a "triathlon" of smithing, running, and javelin-throwing. Her "chaotic" combination of skills proved her divine worth.
