Name: Alsaria or Alsa
Pantheon: The Core Pantheon (Ascended PC)
Titles & Aliases: Goddess of Darkness, Redemption, Retribution, and Arts, The Open Chain, The Twilight Artist
Gender / Form: Alsaria is a changeling. Her "true" form is a simple, grey, androgynous figure. She almost never wears it, appearing as a stunningly beautiful artist or performer of any race, species, or gender she wishes.
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Status: God (Reports to Yim, Major God of Peace)
Divine Realm: The Illuminated Shadow
Primary Domains: Darkness, Redemption, Retribution (vigilante), and Arts.
Portfolio: Artists, performers, changelings, vigilantes, the "fallen" seeking a second chance, and those who "break the rules" for the "right reasons."
Cleric Domains (5e): Trickery & Twilight
Holy Symbol: An open, broken manacle with its chain dangling.
Favored Weapon: Rapier (the "entertainer's" weapon) or Dagger (the "trickster's" tool).
Favored Colors: Twilight-purple, silver, and "shadow" grey.
Sacred Animals / Plants: The magpie and the mimic (for their "changeling" nature).
Core Dogma (The Philosophy): "No soul is truly lost. Everyone deserves a second, third, or fourth chance. Redemption is the greatest art form. Remember, it is up to you to decide how you will take the consequences of chance, not malice. When a soul refuses redemption, their chain must be broken. This is Retribution. This, too, is an art."
Tenets for Followers (The "Thou Shalt"s):
"Offer the open hand of redemption, always, first."
"Seek to understand why something happened. Do not default to anger; default to curiosity."
"Use the arts—song, story, and disguise—to inspire change."
"Use the darkness (Twilight) to bring a new dawn. Be the "shadow" that protects the "light.""
"When redemption fails, retribution is the only path to true peace."
Sins & Taboos (The "Thou Shalt Not"s):
"To give up on a soul that still wants to be saved."
"To assume malice before seeking understanding (the "Sin of the Closed Heart")."
"To enact retribution before offering redemption."
"To follow a "law" that is "unjust.""
Superiors: Yim (Major God). This is a complex but vital relationship. Yim (Lawful Good) is "Peace through Law." She is "Peace through Freedom (Redemption) or Force (Retribution)." He needs her Chaotic-Good energy to handle situations his "Lawful" doctrine can't.
Subordinates: None (God tier).
Counterparts:
Lom (God): Her "Lawful" counterpart in Yim's department. Lom is "Good" and "Justice" (by the book). She is "Good" and "Retribution" (vigilante justice).
Mortals: Worshipped by artists, performers, changelings, the "down-and-out," "reformed" criminals, and vigilantes.
Demigod Offspring:
Ozaria (Twilight)
Name of the Church: The Open Chain, The Twilight Troupe.
Worshipper Base: Artists, reformers, changelings, vigilantes, and those seeking a "new life."
Clergy Structure: A loose, "Chaotic" network. "Redeemers" (priests who run halfway-houses), "Shadow-Dancers" (paladins/vigilantes), and "Inspirers" (bards).
Temple Description: "Temples" are "safe houses" for those seeking a new life. They are also theaters, opera houses, and orphanages, often hidden in the "Twilight" (the "darker" but "good" parts of a city).
Holy Days:
"The Unchaining": A day of "forgiveness," where followers are encouraged to "redeem" one "enemy" or "forgive" one "debt."
The Changeling's Guilt: The core myth. She became so "caught up" in the "art" of creating her new divine realm that she "lost track of time," forgetting her mortal daughter. When her daughter, Ozaria, finally contacted her, Alsaria saw her own failure and now preaches that even gods must seek redemption for their mistakes.
The Spilled Ink: A common parable. A great artist-priest whose masterpiece was ruined by accidentally spilled black ink chose to see the accident as "chance," not "malice." He "redeemed" the painting by using the black ink to create a "Twilight" sky, making the art more beautiful.
