Name: Feta (Fet-a')
Pantheon: The Core Pantheon
Titles & Aliases: God of Fortune, The Fickle-One, The Merchant's-Friend (and Foe)
Gender / Form: Masculine. Feta appears as a well-dressed merchant with a smile that never quite reaches his eyes. One moment, he is your best friend; the next, he is a cold, calculating stranger.
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Status: God (Reports to Eisana, Major God of Community)
Divine Realm: The Shaking Coin
Primary Domains: Fortune, Prosperity, Fate, Trade
Portfolio: Merchants, traders, gamblers, and anyone who "takes a risk." He is the god of the "lucky break" and the "sudden ruin."
Cleric Domains (5e): Light & Trickery
Holy Symbol: A golden disc (a coin) with a "money pouch" sigil embossed on both sides.
Favored Weapon: Dagger (a "merchant's" last defense) or a Loaded Die (as a focus).
Favored Colors: Gold, silver, and "fickle" purple.
Sacred Animals / Plants: The magpie (for its love of "shiny" things).
Core Dogma (The Philosophy): "Luck is a river. Fortune is a fickle wind. Why? Because I am bored. Do not pray for "stability." Pray for an opportunity. A single, kind word to my priest might change your luck for the better; a single insult might see you ruined. Life is a gamble; the only sin is not to play."
Tenets for Followers (The "Thou Shalt"s):
"Take the risk. A ship in the harbor is safe, but that's not what ships are for."
"Be ready to change everything in a moment. Fortune favors the fast."
"One good trade, one lucky roll, one word can change the world."
"Pay your respects to me, often. I am fickle, and I must be appeased."
Sins & Taboos (The "Thou Shalt Not"s):
"To be "safe." This is boring, and it offends me."
"To be "predictable."
"To insult a "beggar" or "lowly" person in my temple (for it might be me in disguise)."
"To pass on a "good" (risky) bet."
Superiors: Eisana (Major God). Feta is a "problem employee" for Eisana. She is the "Goddess of Community" and craves "peace" and "stability." Feta is the "God of Fortune" and craves "chaos" and "risk." He reports to her because "Prosperity" (his domain) is vital to "Community" (her domain), but they are in constant, philosophical conflict.
Subordinates: None (God tier).
Mortals: Worshipped by all merchants, traders, and gamblers. He is not loved; he is feared and bribed with offerings.
Demigod Offspring:
Thana Silverspire (Light)
Junpei Krikerin (Trickery)
Name of the Church: The Fickle-Hand, The Golden-Risk Guild.
Worshipper Base: Merchants, traders, gamblers, and "risk-takers."
Clergy Structure: A "Chaotic" mess. Priests are "Risk-Takers" or "Fortune-Tellers." Their "rank" is based entirely on how "wealthy" or "lucky" they currently are. A high priest one day could be a beggar the next (and vice-versa).
Temple Description: Temples are always casinos, high-end merchant guild-halls, or stock-exchanges. They are places of high-stakes and loud, fast-paced "worship" (gambling).
Holy Days:
"The Double-Up": A holy day where all followers are expected to "double" their risk: bet twice as much, send two ships instead of one, etc.
The Beggar-King: The core myth. It tells of Feta appearing as a dirty beggar to a rich merchant, who insulted him. Feta changed his mood, and the merchant was ruined by a fickle storm. The same day, Feta appeared as a rich noble to a poor baker who kindly gave him his last loaf. Feta changed his mood and the baker lucked into a massive inheritance.
