Name: Noi (Noy)
Pantheon: The Core Pantheon (Splinter of Noi'Essap)
Titles & Aliases: Goddess of Beauty, Carnal Pleasures, Dance, and Women; The Core Instinct (Splinter of Noi'Essap), The Mistress of Mastery
Gender / Form: Female. Noi appears as the most beautiful creature in the multiverse, as each person sees her uniquely to suit their own desires. Her common form is a stunning elf maiden in soft black leather, but she will appear as a beautiful female of any species. Her form inspires lust in all those that see her (male and female), though not always for her.
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Status: God (Reports to Thasa, Major God of Animals & Balance)
Divine Realm: The Anima Luxuria (The Velvet Chaos)
Primary Domains: Beauty, Carnal Pleasures, Dance, Women's sexual freedom.
Portfolio: The pursuit of pleasure, hedonism, aesthetic beauty, dancing, self-expression, and the discipline of desire.
Cleric Domains (5e): Light & Trickery
Holy Symbol: A butterfly with its wings outstretched, often in vibrant, shifting colors.
Favored Weapon: Whip (seen as a "dancer's" tool and a "tool of pleasure")
Favored Colors: All of them, especially "butterfly" patterns.
Sacred Animals / Plants: The butterfly (transformation and light) and the peacock (for its "display").
Core Dogma (The Philosophy): "Life is a dance, and its purpose is Experiential Passion. Love is not an illusion, but a discipline. You must take new lovers to gain new skills. However, if your singular bond is forged of true love and survives comparison with the world, it is the Path of Singular Mastery. The single relationship that remains is not a cage, but a throne—earned by effort and true love, not by contract. All political, arranged, or stagnant marriages will still earn my eternal wrath, for they are failures of sincerity and growth."
Tenets for Followers (The "Thou Shalt"s):
"Thou shalt seek growth through pleasure. Whether with many or with one, do not stagnate."
"Thou shalt be beautiful, inside and out. If you feel beautiful, you are beautiful."
"Thou shalt engage with dance, for it is the worship of the body."
"If you choose the Many, do so with reckless abandon. If you choose the One, do so with absolute mastery."
Sins & Taboos (The "Thou Shalt Not"s):
"To allow a relationship to become boring or stagnant (The Sin of the Grey Heart)."
"To bind oneself in a marriage of politics, convenience, or force (Noi abhors the 'loveless contract')."
"To feel shame for one's body or one's desires."
"To judge another's pleasure."
Superiors: Thasa (Major God). Noi is the "Chaotic," "primal," "instinctual" "passion" of Thasa's "animal" "portfolio."
Subordinates: None (God tier).
Divine Siblings (Splinters of Noi'Essap):
Eisa (God of Seduction/Rules): Her lawful counterpart.
Sasi (Goddess of Secrets/Cunning): The calculation that complements her impulsivity.
Suel (Psychopomp/Consequence): The shadow of desire.
Mortals: Worshipped by women seeking sexual liberation, dancers, artists, hedonists, and now, lovers seeking perfection.
Demigod Offspring:
Noth Faelar (Light)
Vespera Lux-Vane (Light, Death)
Name of the Church: The Butterfly-Dance, The Circle of Pleasures.
Worshipper Base: Hedonists, lovers, dancers, and "liberated" "women."
Clergy Structure: Exclusively female clergy.
Acolytes: "Butterflies"
Priests: "Joy-Givers"
Bishops: "Mistresses of the Dance"
Temple Description: Vibrant, luxurious spaces filled with silks, soft pillows, and perfumes. They feature large, open dance floors.
Rites & Rituals: All official services require officials and attendees to be nude and typically conclude in an orgy. However, new "Private Rites" for couples on the Path of Mastery are being developed.
Holy Days:
"The Shedding of the Skin": A monthly festival. Followers are encouraged to 'shed' old lovers to find new ones, OR to 'shed' old habits to renew their passion with their current lover.
The Great Shattering: Noi was once part of the entity Noi'Essap (The Goddess of Pure Desire), who shattered into four gods. Noi is the core instinct of desire.
The Reformation of La'Amaolin: The defining modern myth. Her cleric La'Amaolin and the guardian Dirzzar proved that a singular love could survive the test of ten other lovers. They proved that monogamy can be a source of infinite discovery, not stagnation. Because of them, Noi altered her dogma to accept the Path of Singular Mastery.
The Vespera Absolution: With the shift in dogma caused by the Reformation, Noi retroactively reviewed the case of her daughter, Vespera Lux-Vane. Recognizing that Vespera's attempt at monogamy was a premature, if unauthorized, attempt at the Path of Mastery, Noi forgave Vespera's "sin" and lifted the curse of overwhelming pleasure. Vespera is no longer tormented, and her marriage (if it survived) is now sanctioned under the new law.
The Beauty-That-Ages: She governs one's appearance as they age and can restore youth or change beauty's form.
