Name: Kayleth
Pantheon: The Core Pantheon (Ascended PC)
Titles & Aliases: Goddess of Knowledge, Prophecy and Writing, The Motherly-Sage, The Grand Cataloger
Gender / Form: Feminine. Kayleth appears as a kind, "motherly" figure, often a human or elf woman who looks more like a "head-librarian" than a "goddess." She is practical, and her "adventuring" gear is always practical, not flashy.
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Status: God (Reports to Eisana, Major God of Wizardry)
Divine Realm: The Endless Scroll
Primary Domains: Knowledge (Non-Arcane), Prophecy, Writing, History
Portfolio: Librarians, scribes, historians, prophets, and the "cataloging" of all worldly knowledge (history, biology, geography, etc.).
Cleric Domains (5e): Entropy & Knowledge
Holy Symbol: The bulb of a Lily, just before it blooms (symbolizing "potential" knowledge).
Favored Weapon: Dagger (seen as a "practical tool," like a letter-opener)
Favored Colors: Paper-white, ink-black, and "archive" brown.
Sacred Animals / Plants: The owl (for its "wisdom") and the lily.
Core Dogma (The Philosophy): "Knowledge is not for 'power.' Knowledge is for security. It's the 'money' you use to buy a safe life. A prophecy is not a 'fate,' it is a 'tip.' Write everything down. Catalog it. File it. The arcane is flashy, but the practical knowledge—that is what gets you paid, and that is what keeps your family safe."
Tenets for Followers (The "Thou Shalt"s):
"Write it down. An unwritten thought is a lost treasure."
"Catalog everything. A fact is useless if it cannot be found."
"Knowledge is practical. Use it to get things done."
"A prophecy is just a "rumor" about the future. Catalog it, and be prepared."
Sins & Taboos (The "Thou Shalt Not"s):
"To burn a book. This is the ultimate, unforgivable sin."
"To hoard knowledge. Information is a currency; it must be shared and cataloged."
"To be reckless. An adventure is for the money, not the "thrill.""
"To confuse my practical knowledge with the "flashy" knowledge of the Arcane gods."
Superiors: Eisana (Major God). Kayleth is Eisana's "Head Librarian." Eisana manages the "Wizardry" and "Arcane" side of the "Intellect" department, while Kayleth manages the "mundane" (but vital) side: history, prophecy, and all non-magical knowledge.
Subordinates: None (God tier).
Counterparts:
Saraheniel (God): Her "Arcane" counterpart. Kayleth catalogs "what" happened; Saraheniel catalogs "how" the magic made it happen.
Mortals: Worshipped by all "practical" knowledge-seekers: librarians, scribes, accountants, town-clerks, and non-magical sages.
Demigod Offspring:
Lorelei (Knowledge)
Name of the Church: The Great Library, The Catalogers of Kayleth.
Worshipper Base: Librarians, scribes, historians, clerks, prophets.
Clergy Structure: A highly organized, "Lawful" (in practice) structure, based on the "Dewey Decimal System." Acolytes are "Pages," priests are "Catalogers," and high priests are "Chief Librarians."
Temple Description: Temples are libraries. They are massive, quiet, and obsessively organized.
Holy Days:
"The Great-Cataloging": An annual "year-in-review" where priests gather all the "new" knowledge from the past year and formally add it to the "Great Library."
The Adventurer-Mom: The core myth. It tells of Kayleth's mortal life, where she adventured not for glory, but to "make enough money" to "retire" and "give her kids a good life." This "practical, motherly" approach to even the most dangerous of "knowledge-seeking" defines her faith.
