Anthem was founded in Year 83, immediately after the Party of Arwon (the "End Party") slew the Ancient Brown Dragon and disbanded.
While Arwon and Eran went on to found a kingdom (Arwonia), and Phobus and Azreal went to their deaths (Sundered Isle), the remaining members of that legendary guild—the "Alumni"—returned to Astra. They were wealthy, powerful, and restless. They saw a city that was becoming increasingly segregated and bureaucratic, where "heroism" was being replaced by "politics."
They pooled their shares of the dragon hoard to buy a massive estate on the border of the Planetar and Solar districts. They founded Anthem not as a mercenary company, but as an institution to preserve the "Old Way" of heroism.
Anthem is unique because it is run by living legends. It doesn't have a single Guildmaster; it has the Chorus—the council of founding members who still actively manage the guild.
The Chorus (The Founders):
Katrina Amastacia (Administrator): A High Elf Cleric of Arcus (Arcana Domain). She is not just a bureaucrat; she is the spiritual heart of the magical community in Astra and a childhood friend of King Arwon. She is the reason Arwon, despite his ego, remains faithful to the God of Magic.
Torinn Delmirev (Sword-Master): A Dragonborn Paladin. Stoic and disciplined, he oversees combat training.
Olin'Xunsin Torana (Field Commander): A Dark Elf Warlock. She is highly active in the field, leading the most dangerous missions personally. She refuses to retire.
Thana Silverspire (The Muse): A Bard and Demigod of Feta (Luck). She is NOT the Treasurer (no one would trust their money to someone whose life is ruled by coin-flips). She serves as the guild's morale officer and talent scout.
Lydia Leafborn (The Mentor): A Halfling Ranger. She is a retired hero who guides new recruits. She is famous for her grumpy lectures on politics, frequently complaining that "Halflings were left out of the Astra government on purpose" by the Founders.
The Ranks:
Verses: Initiates/Apprentices.
Choristers: Full members/Licensed adventurers.
Soloists: Elite agents trusted with S-Rank missions (like Mellyrnnadaja).
The headquarters is a massive, domed building of white stone and acoustically perfect architecture.
The Great Hall: The central chamber is lined with statues of the original Party of Arwon (including those who left, like Arwon and Eran). It serves as a tavern, meeting place, and trophy room.
The Archive: A library of maps and monster lore that rivals the University's, but focused purely on killing monsters rather than studying them.
The Proving Grounds: A magically reinforced arena in the courtyard where members spar.
Anthem holds immense "soft power" in Astra.
The White Palace: Queen Saeline respects them (her son founded the original party), but the Council fears them. Anthem is the only military force in the city that doesn't answer to the Crown.
The Rivalry: They despise The Superb Seven (Mora Fire-wing's gang in the Plains District). Anthem views the Seven as "pretenders" and "thugs" who give adventuring a bad name. There is a cold war between the two groups.
Current Operations: They are currently sponsoring the rise of Mellyrnnadaja (Demigod of El) and her party, seeing them as the "Next Generation" who might finally rival the founders.
Race Position: Meritocratic.
Segregation: None (Rank is based on deeds).
Primary Race: Diverse (reflecting the cosmopolitan nature of adventurers).
Technology: High Fantasy (Magic items are common).
Trades: Monster Hunting, Escort, Dungeon Delving, Training.
Government: Oligarchy (The Chorus).
Social Alignment: Neutral Good.
Archetype: The quintessential Adventurers' Guild.
