Suspended in the freezing, silver void of the Astral Sea, Illutirith—known also as Everwatch—is the ancient, timeless home of the Moon Knights. Unburdened by the grinding erosion of entropy, the realm is an archipelago of massive, flat, circular, continent-sized asteroids polished to a blinding mirror sheen by aeons of psychic wind, resembling colossal stone coins.
The Starlight Bridges: Breathtaking, woven bridges of starlight connect the realm's specialized floating discs:
The High Coin: The central seat of governance, council chambers, and high ceremonial consecration.
The Scholar’s Disc: Silent, dustless libraries housing ancient knowledge preserved across millennia.
The Warrior’s Plate: Pristine training grounds where martial katas are practiced without a drop of sweat or blood spilled.
The Residential Coin: Dwellings and formal chambers, including sound-dampened bridal vaults.
Illutirith was engineered as a sanctuary against time and death. However, its absolute zero-time stasis comes with a profound cosmological cost:
Zero Biological Decay: Time does not flow in Illutirith. Spires of glass never crack, scars earned in ancient battles never fade or pucker, and the inhabitants do not age a single day.
The Paradox of Sterility: Because time is frozen, cells physically cannot divide. A planted seed cannot sprout in the soil, and a child cannot gestate or form in the womb. Within Illutirith, its people exist as flawless, breathing statues of flesh—eternal, perfect, and utterly sterile.
The Atmospheric Silence: The realm is defined by a heavy, crushing silence—the psychic pressure of millennia of unsaid words, unfulfilled desires, and frozen momentum.
The society of Illutirith is governed by cold, unfeeling calculation designed to mathematically preserve an immortal species in a void:
Matrimonial Contracts: Romantic emotion is viewed by the elders as an unstable variable. Marriages (such as that of Jagjit and Tara) are secured through rigid, mathematically calculated breeding contracts drafted by noble families (e.g., the Xiloscient and Aelnodel lineages) to preserve their bloodlines.
The Venture into Mortality: To break their absolute sterility and conceive children, Moon Knights must charter spelljammer skiffs and depart the polished coins of Illutirith. They descend into worlds where time flows and entropy exists—such as Alealam Alkhamis—where they must learn dependency, hunger, and mortality to allow life to take root.
