Arazium's Fortress is a structure on the southern most part of the island. It was constructed completely using divine power of the Solar Arazium and is staffed entirely by a hundred Deva who follow him. It was created for the sole purpose of Arazium to raise his children he creates with Verlu le Flueve under their marriage contract.
Sprawling gracefully across the outer rim of the volcano, Arazium's Fortress is designed to look less like a military stronghold and more like an extension of the mountain itself.
The Upper Sanctuaries: Gleaming white domes and classical arches, crafted from polished volcanic stone, sit atop the highest ridges. These grand halls serve as the central seat of power, looking out over the entire valley.
The Grand Arcade: A magnificent, curved terrace supported by an elegant colonnade of arches extends over the abyss. It allows the inhabitants of the fortress to walk safely above the roaring chasm below.
The Hidden Defenses: While beautifully ornate, the fortress utilizes the natural topography of Mount Terreur as an impenetrable defense. The sheer drop-offs and rushing waters make a frontal assault virtually impossible.
Arazium's Fortress does not employ mortal servants, nor does it suffer the decay of time. The immaculate state of the white stone and the perfectly manicured terraces are maintained by a host of 100 angels, bound to the property to fulfill Arazium's divine intent.
The Wardens of the Stone: These celestial beings ensure that the gleaming ivory arches and golden domes remain untouched by ash, moss, or weathering. The fortress looks as immaculate today as the moment Arazium raised it from the bedrock.
The Keepers of the Flow: The angels guide the roaring waterfalls through the carved channels, ensuring the geothermal mist perfectly hydrates the hanging gardens without ever eroding the mountain's edge.
An Atmosphere of Peace: Moving silently through the grand colonnades, the One Hundred fill the fortress with an aura of absolute serenity, making the stronghold an impenetrable beacon of light at the center of the world.
The Divine Transmutation: As Mount Terreur's geothermal pressure forces the subterranean waters upward, they pass through the foundations of the fortress. Arazium’s divine ward acts as a celestial filter, stripping away sulfur and acidity, and transmuting the volcanic heat into holy, life-giving energy.
The Canopy of Condensation: The purified, super-heated water vapor rises and condenses on the underside of the upper caldera rim.
The Living Cascades: It rains down the slopes not as destructive acid, but as a warm, nutrient-dense, and blessed deluge. This creates the breathtaking network of waterfalls that feed the impossibly lush, emerald forests thriving in the equatorial heat.
Viewed through this lens, Arazium's Fortress is the ultimate expression of harmony. By choosing a dormant volcano at the equator, the Archangel selected a place of maximum earthly energy—heat, moisture, and volcanic power—and redirected it toward a holy purpose. The roaring waters symbolize a fierce, untamed world beautifully disciplined by divine architecture.
